Congresswoman Lee Named to Key House Appropriations Subcommittees

February 2, 2023

WASHINGTON — This week, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) announced her appointment to the House Appropriations Committee's Energy and Water Development, and Related Agencies Subcommittee and the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Subcommittee.

"I am honored to serve on the House Appropriations Committee once again," said Congresswoman Susie Lee. "As a member of the subcommittees on Energy and Water, and Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, I'm looking forward to securing important funding to support our veterans and military families, strengthen drought prevention efforts in the West, and continue to grow Nevada's renewable energy economy. I've also made my mark on this committee ensuring that not a single federal dollar is sunk into the failure of science and policy at Yucca Mountain. That's a fight I will continue to carry in my second term on the Appropriations Committee."

This marks Congresswoman Lee's second term serving on the House Appropriations Committees and both subcommittees, where she previously worked to deliver nearly $40 million to invest directly in local southern Nevada community projects, funding for water conservation and drought contingency programs, and a commitment from the Department of Energy to pursue new, consent-based alternatives to Yucca Mountain.
