KSNV: Congresswoman Susie Lee announces new clean energy jobs in Southern Nevada

January 25, 2024

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Congresswoman Susie Lee is expanding opportunities in solar infrastructure.

The local leader visited Unimacts Solar Manufacturing on Wednesday to announce new clean energy jobs coming to Southern Nevada.

Rep. Lee had the chance to tour the facility, speak to workers, and provide a helping hand at the production line.

She said the facility puts Nevada on the map when it comes to solar energy jobs.

Unimacts first opened last year and continues to grow thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which Lee helped get signed into law in 2022.

"What this has meant for Nevada is more than 11, 500 good paying clean-energy jobs have been created right here since the passage of the IRA, and this makes us one of the top 7 states in the country for clean energy job creation," said Rep. Lee.

The Unimacts facility produces tubing infrastructure for solar energy and supports hundreds of jobs in the valley.
