Infrastructure

I helped negotiate and pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to rebuild our roads and bridges, invest in climate resiliency, deliver clean drinking water, improve our airports, expand broadband access, develop more mass transit options, and create millions of jobs. This legislation is the largest infrastructure package in a generation and is already delivering much needed investments to southern Nevada.

Reducing Traffic, Improving Traffic Safety

It’s no secret that southern Nevadans spend a lot of time in their car. To make sure that time is efficient and safe, I’ve fought to bring federal dollars back to southern Nevada to update the Henderson Interchange and fund initiatives to make our streets safer for cars and pedestrians. Recently, I secured a $3.3 million investment to cut down on car crashes and boost pedestrian safety in some of our community’s most dangerous intersections. I’ve also worked alongside local and federal safety agencies to promote safe driving practices.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law I helped negotiate and pass also made one of southern Nevada’s most transformative projects to date possible: Brightline West, our nation’s first high-speed rail system. Brightline West will make travel between Las Vegas and southern California twice as fast as by car and is projected to remove 3 million cars from the I-15 annually, create thousands of good-paying union jobs, boost the local economy, and reduce more than 400,000 tons of carbon emissions. That means less traffic, cleaner air, and more travelers to support southern Nevada’s 24/7 economy and small businesses.

Expanding Affordable Broadband Access

Nevada lags behind much of the nation in access to high-speed internet, which is why I’ve fought to invest federal dollars in broadband services. But I’m also working to make sure Nevada gets its fair share of that funding to protect educational opportunities, access to health care, and economic growth for years to come.

Electrifying Nevada’s Grid

A 21st century economy requires a 21st century grid. That means expanding access to rooftop solar, building a network of electric vehicle charging stations, and investing in the local companies that can build our clean energy economy.

Expanding Affordable Housing

I’m fighting in Congress to lower housing costs for families, seniors, and veterans across the Valley. Streamlining the permitting process, building more affordable housing, and helping you take advantage of local resources are all ways I’m working to make sure you can keep a roof over your head. My bipartisan AACE Act, which is endorsed by Governor Lombardo, cuts through red tape by streamlining public land appraisals, expanding access to qualified appraisers, and letting us more quickly develop the local housing projects southern Nevada needs.
