News 3: Congresswoman Susie Lee's initiatives enhance outdoor experiences nationwide

January 8, 2025

President Joe Biden signed two bipartisan bills by Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) into law on January 4, 2025, as part of the Expanding Public Lands Outdoor Recreation Experiences (EXPLORE) Act.

The legislation aims to enhance outdoor recreation and promote public lands nationwide in Nevada.

The Biking On Long-Distance Trails (BOLT) Act and the Protecting America’s Rock Climbing (PARC) Act passed unanimously in the Republican-controlled House Natural Resources Committee and are key components of the broader bipartisan package.

The BOLT Act seeks to expand outdoor recreation by identifying potential long-distance bike trails and improving mapping resources for bikers.

Meanwhile, the PARC Act clarifies Congress' intent to allow climbing as a compatible activity on wilderness designations, aiming to prevent land management agencies from banning fixed anchors.

“Nevada is not only the entertainment capital of the world, but it’s also home to some of the planet’s most incredible public lands,” said Congresswoman Susie Lee.
