News 3: Rep. Susie Lee appointed to House Committee on Veterans' Affairs

January 17, 2019

Susie Lee, the U.S. Representative who defeated Danny Tarkanian in the 2018 race for Nevada's 3rd Congressional District, has been appointed to the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs.

Lee, the daughter of an army veteran, says that she knows the importance of caring for veterans at home.

"I also know that we must improve access to those key veterans services, which is why I will fight to have a fully funded and functional Veterans Administration and ensure every service member has access to critical programs like job training and education, mental health services, and health care," Lee said in a press release. "I look forward to working with Chairman Takano, Ranking Member Roe, and all the members of the Committee."

Lee, a Democrat, previously ran for Nevada's 4th Congressional District in 2016, but was defeated in the primaries by Ruben Kihuen.
