Congresswoman Lee Announces $110,642 Federal Investment to Improve Outdoor Recreation at Big Bend of the Colorado State Park
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) announced that the National Parks Service has awarded the Nevada Division of State Parks a $110,642 grant to improve Big Bend of the Colorado State Park by dredging the mouth of the cove in Laughlin, Nevada.
“Southern Nevadans deserve safe and accessible parks and recreation areas,” said Congresswoman Susie Lee. “This funding will keep the cove open and easy to navigate while ensuring visitors can continue to enjoy everything Big Bend has to offer. I’m always ready to ensure our parks and public lands get the resources they need from Washington.”
Throughout her time in Congress, Lee has successfully brought federal dollars home to Nevada to fund outdoor recreation projects, including $1 million for the Red Rock Legacy Trail. This trail, which broke ground earlier this year, will take bikers and pedestrians off State Route 159 and give them a safe place to enjoy Nevada’s world class public lands.
