Congresswoman Lee Announces Federal Investment Secured for Four New Solar Arrays Across Las Vegas
Nearly $600,000 Investment to Help Reduce Energy Costs and Emissions
WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) announced that she helped secure a nearly $600,000 federal investment for the City of Las Vegas to install solar arrays at two fire stations, the Municipal Court, and the Civic Plaza. This investment was made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that Congresswoman Lee helped negotiate and pass. This new investment will help reduce energy costs and emissions.
“Nevada is already experiencing a solar transformation, and with this latest round of Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding, our public facilities are now getting more help,” said Congresswoman Lee. “I helped negotiate and pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to bring once-in-a-generation investments and good-paying jobs to southern Nevada, and I’m proud to see that this historic law is supporting the city’s plan to reduce energy costs and emissions.”
Through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, this $583,470 investment will fund the installation of solar systems that will generate up to 400,000 kWh annually. The Department of Energy awarded this investment from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program as part of a broader investment of more than $17 million across four states to improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and save residents money on their energy bills.

Congresswoman Lee has been a strong advocate for clean energy investments across Nevada. Last month, Congresswoman Lee announced that Unimacts, a solar manufacturing company located in Nevada’s Third Congressional District, is adding 200 new, good-paying jobs to its operations in southern Nevada.
