Congresswoman Lee Announces Nearly $27 Million for Drinking Water Improvement Projects
WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) announced nearly $27 million has been awarded to the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to invest in drinking water improvement projects across the state.
"Every Nevadan deserves access to safe, clean drinking water, and this investment is critical to delivering on that promise amid the worst drought in 12 centuries," said Congresswoman Susie Lee. "I was proud to help pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which delivered more than $21 million for this grant award, and I'll keep working to make sure that southern Nevada continues to benefit from investments like these for the long haul."
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded this $26,928,940 grant to Nevada through the Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund (DWSRF). The funding will help finance costs associated with the planning, design, and construction of eligible drinking and public water improvement projects and activities to protect human health, together with facilitating relevant technical assistance.

As Vice-Chair of the Colorado River Caucus, Congresswoman Susie Lee has been dedicated to finding solutions to the worst drought in the American West in 12 centuries. Last Congress, Lee's Large-Scale Water Recycling Project Investment Act was enacted as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, alongside more than $400 million to improve Nevada's water infrastructure. This Congress, Lee has introduced bipartisan legislation to close the biggest data gap in water management and led bipartisan calls for action in the Colorado River negotiations following a series of missed deadlines. Most recently, Congresswoman Lee announced that $63 million in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding has been awarded to 13 water infrastructure projects across Nevada.
