Congresswoman Lee Helps Break Ground on New Maryland Parkway Bus Rapid Transit Project
Joined by Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg

LAS VEGAS – Yesterday, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) joined union workers, local transportation leaders, members of the Nevada federal delegation, and U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg in a groundbreaking ceremony for the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada’s (RTC) Maryland Parkway Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.
Funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that Congresswoman Lee helped negotiate and pass, the BRT project covers a 13-mile corridor beginning in Nevada’s Third Congressional District and ending at the Las Vegas Medical District. The project will include dozens of enhanced transit shelters, shared bus-bike lanes, improved sidewalks and crossings, and new lighting and landscaping. For the more than 60,000 residents and 100,000 workers in this corridor, this investment will mean safer streets, increased accessibility, and better traveling experiences.
Congresswoman Lee was joined by U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, Congressman Steven Horsford, Congresswoman Dina Titus, Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones, Nevada Department of Transportation Tracy Larkin Thomason, RTC CEO M.J. Maynard, and union workers.
