LAS VEGAS – Yesterday, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) joined health care advocates, leadership from the WestCare Foundation, and local and state elected officials in a groundbreaking event for a brand new, 84-unit transitional housing community (sober living) for women and their children.
“We know that so many times people who are struggling with substance abuse or mental health issues need time and support. And that's why this groundbreaking is so important,” said Congresswoman Lee. “For 50 years, Westcare has not only brought hope to thousands of struggling women and children, but it has saved lives.”
This first-of-its-kind facility in southern Nevada will provide case management, peer recovery support, educational classes, and wrap around services for some of southern Nevada’s most vulnerable residents. WestCare Nevada is a behavioral health and human services non-profit that provides services in the domains of Mental Health & Wellness, Treatment & Rehabilitation, Criminal Justice, Veterans Services, Housing & Transitional Living, and Education & Prevention.
