Congresswoman Lee Helps Secure $350,000 to Reconstruct Lost Creek Boardwalk in Red Rock Canyon

February 8, 2024

LAS VEGAS – Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) announced a new $350,000 federal investment from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to reconstruct the Lost Creek boardwalk in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. This investment was made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that Congresswoman Lee helped negotiate and pass

The Lost Creek boardwalk, which was built to protect vegetation growing along the creek, is located in an area regularly used for hiking, biking, and school tours. In recent years, the boardwalk has fallen into a state of disrepair, resulting in dangers to the public and environment.

“I helped negotiate and pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to bring much-needed investment to southern Nevada’s crumbling infrastructure, and I’m proud to announce that this law is yet again delivering results,” said Congresswoman Lee. “I hike and bike through Red Rock Canyon every chance I get, and like many Nevadans, I’ve experienced firsthand how dangerous the aging Lost Creek boardwalk can be. This long-overdue investment will ensure that our precious natural landscapes and public lands are accessible and safe for everyone.”

Today’s announcement is part of a broader investment of $41 million across 74 projects and 16 states, and it represents the third installment of ecosystem restoration funds from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. With this latest wave of investment, BLM has awarded more than $100 million to ecosystem restoration projects in the last two years.
