Congresswoman Lee Holds Roundtable to Discuss Impacts of Medicaid Cuts on Healthcare
Joined by Families of Children with Disabilities, Providers, and Nonprofits

LAS VEGAS – Today, at the Collaboration Center, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) joined local families who rely on Medicaid, healthcare providers, disability resource organizations, and nonprofits to sound the alarm on how federal funding cuts to Medicaid in Congressional Republicans’ proposed budget would hurt Nevadans.
Nevada Medicaid data can be found HERE.
811,962 Nevadans are enrolled in Medicaid for healthcare, which includes nearly 40% of children in Nevada, more than half of nursing home residents, and one third of people with disabilities.
Medicaid is not a controversial program—three quarters of Americans support it, including 63% of Republicans, 87% of Democrats, and 81% of Independents.
“This Republican Project 2025 budget will devastate thousands of families, children and elderly. It’s a simple formula: cut Medicaid to pay for tax cuts for billionaires and big corporations,” said Congresswoman Susie Lee. “Lives are literally on the line, and today I heard the stories from parents, healthcare providers, and nonprofits – all who know that Medicaid provides critical care to Nevada families, seniors in nursing homes, children, and our disability community.”
Congresswoman Lee was joined by CEO of Collaboration Center Foundation Cindy Goussak, Enriching Explorations in Engineering, Inc. (E3) Founder and President Dr. Linda Johnson-McClinton, Zane Medical Group Clinical Director Sussan Fung, Blume Maternity Support Services Founder Jshauntae Marshall, Safe Harbor Medical CEO Tina Alicea, Welt Law Attorney Tiffany Welt Doctors, and ECHO Group Homes CEO and parent of a child with disabilities Ron Sumbang.
