WASHINGTON – Last night, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) joined Irish Ambassador Geraldine Byrne NasonNBC News Senior White House Correspondent Kelly O’Donnell, and fellow Bipartisan Women’s Caucus Co-Chair Congresswoman Kat Cammack for a conversation about women in public life ahead of St. Brigid’s Day on February 1st

Congresswoman Lee, Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Women’s Caucus, was one of seven sisters proudly raised in an Irish Catholic family. She currently represents a state with a female-majority state legislature and serves in a congressional delegation that is two-thirds women. Lee began her career working for the first female mayor of Las Vegas. Lee was first elected in 2018 when more women were sent to Congress than ever before, a record that has been broken in each of her subsequent elections.

St. Brigid’s Day honors Ireland’s only female patron saint and is an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishment of women both in Ireland and the Irish diaspora. This year, the historical relic of St. Brigid will be returned to her hometown of Kildare for the first time in 1,500 years.

"I’m proud to Co-Chair the Bipartisan Women's Caucus at a time when more women are serving in Congress than ever before. It’s up to the incredible women in public service and the media here tonight to help blaze new trails for future female leaders,” said Congresswoman Susie Lee. “It won’t always be easy, but I know that as women working across the aisle, we can find common ground on issues that women face every day.”
