Congresswoman Lee Receives “Distinguished Community Health Center Advocate” Award from Nevada Primary Care Association

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) was awarded the Nevada Primary Care Association’s “Distinguished Community Health Center Advocate” Award for her work to fully fund community health centers in Nevada and beyond.
Nevada is home to eight Community Health Centers and 67 delivery sites, which provide integrated care often including medical, dental, and behavioral health care within one facility. The Nevada Primary Care Association offers training and technical assistance to the state’s Federally Qualified Health Centers, providing care to more than 114,000 Nevadans located in underserved communities and geographies.
“When it comes to providing access to affordable, quality healthcare, Federally-Qualified Health Centers are often the only option for thousands of Nevada families,” said Congresswoman Susie Lee. "In a state like Nevada where both urban and rural communities struggle with access to care, many rely on community health centers. That is why I will continue to be a champion. I’m honored to receive this recognition and will continue working with the Nevada Primary Care Association to ensure that all Nevadans, no matter where they live, receive the health care they deserve.”
Representing Nevada’s Third Congressional District, Congresswoman Lee is a champion for expanding health care access across Nevada. Last Congress, her MOBILE Health Care Act was passed with overwhelming bipartisan support and signed into law making it easier for Federally-Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) to use existing grant money to increase access to affordable, quality health care in rural and underserved communities. Additionally, Congresswoman Lee has also introduced bipartisan legislation to permanently expand telehealth flexibilities to increase access in rural and underserved areas and bipartisan legislation to address Nevada's care provider shortage by supporting nursing school faculty and expanding the nursing talent pipeline.
