Congresswoman Lee Releases Report Showing How Trump and Republicans in Washington Are Driving Up Costs for Families in Nevada
LAS VEGAS, NV — Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) released new data showing how Donald Trump’s economic agenda and Republicans in Congress are increasing everyday costs for families in NV-03, including higher prices for groceries, health care, housing, and other basic needs. The report was prepared using data compiled by the House Budget Committee.
The full report is available here.
“Families in Nevada were promised lower prices. Instead, President Trump and Republicans in Congress have delivered higher grocery bills, rising rents, and more expensive utility costs,” said Congresswoman Susie Lee. “This report makes clear that Trump’s tariffs are crushing working families, and that Republicans in Congress are doubling down on an agenda that makes it harder for families to get by while handing tax breaks to billionaires and big corporations.”
Key highlights include:
9,042 individuals or families in Nevada filed for bankruptcy in 2025.
44,000 people in NV-03 are seeing their health care costs rise because of Republicans’ decision to end enhanced Affordable Care Act tax credits.
$2,000: average annual hit for 281,440 working-and middle-class families in NV-03 thanks to the Trump Administration’s tariff taxes and Budget Bill.
$1,565: average additional cost to Nevada families for basic living expenses under Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans so far.
