Congresswoman Lee Statement on Hamas’ Heinous Terrorist Attack Against Israel

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) released the following statement condemning Hamas’ deadly terrorist attack on Israel:

“Early this morning, the world awoke to Israel erupting in sirens, as Hamas rained thousands of rockets on Israeli civilians on one of the holiest days of the year. Hundreds have been killed, their families left grieving and fearing for themselves and their loved ones, as the state of Israel reels following this brutal surprise attack.

“I condemn in the strongest terms possible Hamas’ unprovoked, horrific, multi-faceted terrorist assault, which was clearly planned to cause indiscriminate destruction and civilian suffering. Israel has a right to defend itself and its people against this heinous violence, and all hostages must be returned to Israel immediately.

“Nearly 50 years to the date after the Yom Kippur War, the United States remains Israel’s strongest ally. Congress must remain united in its commitment to helping Israel protect innocent civilians against cowardly Hamas terrorists—and any others who support these acts of terror. The U.S. stands in solidarity with Israelis and their right to live in peace.”
