Congresswoman Lee Statement on House Republican Effort to Politicize Critical Aid for Israel and Jeopardize National Security

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) released the following statement after voting against an extreme House Republican effort to inject their reckless political agenda into a vital support package for Israel: 

“It is both disgusting and dangerous that House Republican extremists chose partisan games over national security and support for one of our strongest allies today. What normally has been an overwhelmingly bipartisan issue - America’s support for Israel - became a pawn in GOP extremists’ ongoing, reckless political charade.  

“This will not be the last vote I will take on support for Israel. I urge House Republican leadership to drop their political stunts and work in a bipartisan manner to swiftly advance a package that supports our critical allies and provides vital humanitarian aid without a senseless political condition that endangers our national security and increases our national deficit.  

“The crisis in the Middle East isn’t a game. The world is watching and there is no time to waste.”
