Congresswoman Lee Statement on Israel Security Assistance Vote
WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) released the following statement after voting in favor of the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act:
“On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists invaded Israel and committed the greatest atrocities against the Jewish people since the Holocaust. Over 100 people, including six Americans, are still being held hostage.
“For months, I have urged House Republican leadership to let Congress vote on bipartisan legislation that supports Israel and our critical allies, provides humanitarian aid for innocent Palestinian civilians, and protects our border. Today’s vote was not that. In fact, it falls far short of what we need to do to protect global democracy and America’s national security, and get much-needed food and medical resources to millions of suffering Palestinians.
“I continue to implore House Republican leadership to put politics aside and let Congress vote to support our critical allies, provide vital humanitarian aid, protect our border, and keep Americans safe at home and abroad.
"Lives are at stake and there is no time to waste.”
