Congresswoman Lee Statement on Politicized Israel Weapons Shipment Vote

WASHINGTON — Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) released the following statement after voting against legislation that would politicize the U.S.-Israel relationship and weaken America and Israel’s national security:

“This is a dangerous, divisive, and misguided bill that will tie both the U.S. and Israel’s hands at a time when coordination and flexibility are critical to dealing with Hamas, Iran, Hezbollah, and other terrorist groups who seek to destroy our ally and kill Jews. This legislation will defund the Department of Defense and State Department — the very departments responsible for providing military aid to Israel, protecting America’s national security, rescuing the hostages, and getting humanitarian aid to those suffering in Gaza.

“Following October 7th, the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust, the United States has stood strong with Israel in the fight against terrorism. The Administration has continued to provide Israel with military support to deal with Hamas in a targeted and effective manner. 

“House Republican leadership is playing political games with the security of America and our allies.”
