Congresswoman Lee Statement on Republican Leadership Betraying Their Word on Bipartisan Deal

WASHINGTON — Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) released the following statement after Republican Leadership betrayed their word on a negotiated bipartisan deal to fund the government: 

“Republicans and Democrats negotiated a deal in good faith that would prevent a government shutdown, lower costs for working families, and provide $70 million to Nevada in disaster, agriculture, and economic relief.

“Because of Elon Musk — an unelected multi-billionaire — House Republicans betrayed their word and chose to play politics with the well-being of our working families, servicemembers, seniors, veterans, and economy. 

“I am once again asking House Republican Leadership to work with both parties on a bipartisan solution to keep the government running because our families, economy, and military depend on it.”
