Congresswoman Lee Statement on U.S. Strikes on Iranian Nuclear Facilities

WASHINGTON — Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) released a statement following U.S. strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities:
“While I await a briefing on the intelligence that led to the strikes and on the status of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, I remain firm in my commitment that Iran cannot be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.
“It cannot be forgotten that the Iranian regime is responsible for funding global terrorism and killing Americans. The regime’s goal is to access nuclear weapons to use against America, Israel, and our other allies. I'm grateful that no U.S. servicemembers were harmed this weekend during the strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities.
“As always, and especially now with Iran launching missiles toward U.S. bases in the Middle East, the safety of our servicemembers in the region should be the White House’s top priority. My thoughts are with our troops and their families back home. America’s ultimate goal must be peace.”
