Congresswoman Lee Statement on Vote Against Dangerous Continuing Resolution to Defund Nevada Priorities

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) released the following statement on her vote against a dangerous Continuing Resolution (CR) to defund Nevada priorities: 

“Let me be clear: Elon Musk and President Trump are already shutting down the government, and Congressional Republicans are sitting back and letting it happen. Meanwhile, the cost of gas, groceries, and housing continues to rise. 

“The Republicans’ CR is anything but clean. I support cutting waste, but this CR defunds police, cripples our national defense, cuts veterans’ health care, and slashes programs Nevadans rely on. 

“The reason just about every Republican voted for it is because it gives Trump and Musk free rein to do as they please, while working Americans will continue to pay. I am a no. 

“Republicans wrote this dangerous bill without any Democratic input. They have the majority, so they could have either passed it on their own or come to the table with us. If they want to act in good faith and let us vote on a clean CR, I’ll be willing to work with them.”
