Las Vegas, NV – Today, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee co-hosted a Housing Resource Talk with Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones, Nevada Assemblywoman Brittney Miller, the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and the Clark County Social Service Department. Just this past month, the eviction moratorium in Nevada came to an end. This event provided advising and a discussion of resources available to those experiencing housing instability and eviction.

"I think back to March of 2020 and just how panicked we were," said Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03). "I remember being on the floor of the House and meeting with our leadership about just how devastated the economy of Nevada would be as a result of this pandemic. I'm proud of what we've been able to accomplish because from the very beginning, everything that we have done in Washington has been about putting families first and understanding that the backbone of our country are the men and women who work day in and day out to support their families. These conversations today are so critical in helping me be informed as I fight in Washington to make sure that our county, state, and local governments have the resources that they need."

"I've spoken to a countless number of folks about their housing struggles over the pandemic, and those conversations lead to the creation of partnerships with Congresswoman Lee, Legal Aid of Southern Nevada, and many others to try and streamline the processes to make sure people are staying housed. If anyone needs assistance or has a question, please contact my office at ccdistf@clarkcountynv.gov," said Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones.

"There's been unmeasurable loss, beyond economics, that people have suffered due to COVID," said Nevada Assemblywoman Brittney Miller. "I'm encouraged by the collaboration between federal, state, and local leaders working in partnership with Legal Aid of SNV and other non-profits to further assist Nevadans in staying in their homes, while also assisting smaller landlords in our community."

"Every week, Legal Aid Center talks to hundreds of desperate tenants facing eviction. The very worst thing those tenants can do is nothing. They have to take action to protect themselves and stay housed. That's why events like today's, where tenants can get reliable information and practical guidance, are so important. We really appreciate Congresswoman Lee, Commissioner Jones, and Assemblywoman Miller and their collective efforts to educate the community" said Jim Berchtold of the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada.

Guidance, information, and resources are available for those experiencing eviction and housing crises.
