LAS VEGAS – Yesterday, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) hosted a Facebook Live to discuss pandemic relief resources for Nevada small businesses. Rep. Lee was joined by Nevada State Treasurer Zach Conine, Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones, and Las Vegas Urban Chamber President Ken Evans.

Rep. Lee highlighted the fact that small businesses in minority communities have been disproportionately hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic:

"As we know, our communities of color have been hardest hit by this pandemic. As we look to pass another package, that is a main focus to make sure we're getting resources where they're needed the most. Nevada, as we know, has been most devastated economically from this pandemic, and it's my job to be back in Washington fighting for every dollar we can get into our state to help our small businesses."

Rep. Lee reminded constituents that Paycheck Protection Program relief is still available for local small businesses:

"I want people to understand the second round of PPP is still available, and you can apply through March 31st. Two-thirds of that money has not been spent yet. This round is for borrowers with no more than 300 employees, and that can demonstrate at least a 25% reduction is revenue between comparable quarters. So, if you can show that, you're eligible for this round of PPP."

Rep. Lee outlined what is expected in the next Congressional COVID-19 relief package:

"The core part of this package is getting vaccines out to our community. We've seen this with our vaccine program that minority communities have the least access. So, a key part of this $1.9 trillion package will be mobile units to go after our hardest to reach communities, who don't have access to the internet every minute of the day, trying to get a vaccine appointment. We're going to pass extended unemployment, child tax credits, earned income tax credits, and more. These are important pieces for working families, and I'm going to keep fighting to pass this package soon."

In December 2020, former President Trump signed a bipartisan $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package passed by Congress, which included over $300 billion for a second round of Paycheck Protection Program relief for small businesses. This was after months of failed progress on relief talks in which this bipartisan proposal from the Problem Solvers Caucus jumpstarted negotiations between the White House and Congressional leadership.
