Lee Votes Against Partisan Bill that Would Rip Health Care Away from 100,000 Americans, Calls for Immediate Vote to Save ACA Tax Credit

December 17, 2025

Tonight, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) released the following statement after voting against the House Republican Leadership’s health care plan that will kick 100,000 Americans off their health care coverage and fails to extend the ACA Tax Credit. Without further Congressional action, health care costs will skyrocket for millions of Americans on January 1, 2026.

“I have long said I am willing to work with anyone to save the ACA Tax Credit and prevent health care costs from skyrocketing for families this January. This is not a red or blue issue — it requires a bipartisan solution.

“Instead, House Republican leaders pushed forward their partisan health care bill — a cobbled-together mess that kicks 100,000 Americans off their health care and does nothing to save the ACA Tax Credit.

“Fortunately for the millions of families that rely on these credits, we have a bipartisan majority that came together to force the House to vote to extend the ACA Tax Credit for three years. Speaker Johnson COULD and SHOULD bring this bill to the floor for a vote TODAY!

“Americans are facing catastrophic price hikes in a matter of days – the time to act is now. If Republican leaders fail to pass a bill that actually lowers health care costs, families in Nevada and across the nation will suffer.”

Congresswoman Lee was one of 218 members who signed a discharge petition forcing a vote on a clean, three-year extension of the ACA Tax Credit. The vote is required in the House within seven legislative days.
