LAS VEGAS, NV – Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) hosted a ceremony at Mountaintop Faith Ministries for southern Nevada’s African American Vietnam War veterans, honoring their service and sacrifices with Vietnam Veteran Lapel pins.
The pins – which feature a blue circle with a laurel wreath surrounding a bald eagle, the American flag, and six stars that represent the allied nations who served in the Vietnam War – were awarded to several local veterans.
Of the 200,000 veterans Nevada is home to, 12% are African American. As the daughter of a veteran, Congresswoman Lee has worked to pass, and is leading, bipartisan legislation to expand veteran health care.
