LAS VEGAS – Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) toured CARE Chest, a southern Nevada nonprofit that provides free medical equipment, supplies, and prescription assistance to those in need. CARE Chest collects, recycles, refurbishes, and then loans gently used medical equipment. CARE Chest was founded more than 30 years ago by three local pharmacists Bill Kahl, Alex Rassuchine, and Craig Collins.

To help address health care costs and shortages, Lee helped pass the Inflation Reduction Act which:

  • Was one of the strongest investments in our health care system since the ACA.
  • Caps the cost of insulin at $35/month for seniors on Medicare.
  • Caps annual out of pocket drug costs for seniors on Medicare at $2,000.
  • Allows Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices.

Lee also led bipartisan bills to increase the availability of mobile health units, expand telehealth in rural and underserved areas, and provide greater transparency for the cost of drugs and insurance plans. She also secured millions in federal investments for mental health, mobile health, and medical training.
