RELEASE: Congresswoman Lee Joins Local Roundtables with Acting Labor Secretary Su
Discussed Supporting AANHPI Community, Job Creation, and Workforce Development
LAS VEGAS – Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) joined two roundtables with Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su, White House Domestic Policy Advisor Neera Tanden, and southern Nevada community leaders.
The first roundtable included local business and labor leaders to discuss how new federal investments are creating thousands of good-paying jobs in Nevada and helping boost workforce development programs. Lee and over 25 local leaders committed to signing the Good Jobs Principles.
The second roundtable included leaders from the Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders (AANHPI) community to discuss issues related to housing, small businesses, workforce development, and language access. Nevada is just one of five states where Asian Americans make up ten percent of the population.
“The investments made by the Biden administration in infrastructure, manufacturing, and renewable energy are already having generational impacts in southern Nevada. Those investments are intended to get to every part of our community, and that only happens with partners at the regional, state, and local level,” said Congresswoman Lee. “When working families and small businesses succeed, our communities prosper, and we all benefit.”
Lee was also joined by Congressman Steve Horsford (NV-4).
