Rep. Lee Announces $150,000 American Rescue Plan Grant for Promotion of Arts in City of Henderson

February 3, 2022

WASHINGTONToday, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) announced that the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) awarded the City of Henderson $150,000 in American Rescue Plan funds for promotion of the arts. The City of Henderson will use this funding to implement a two-part plan to support local artists, foster tourism, and continue to develop arts and culture within the city. NEA is awarding these ARP grants to support the arts and culture sector as it recovers from the pandemic.

"The pandemic hit our local artists and arts organizations hard, and we must do all we can to help them as they rebuild," said Rep. Lee. "The American Rescue Plan is helping to support all of our industries, and I hope that this grant will allow the City of Henderson to continue to recuperate, create more jobs, and expand its vision for its future."

"The City of Henderson is focused on growing our arts and culture opportunities and this funding is a key element to help support our local artists," said Shari Ferguson, City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Director. "These funds will be used to create large public art sculptures at three intersections along Boulder Highway and to develop a citywide arts and culture business plan. This investment will enable us to create jobs and further enhance arts and culture in Henderson, benefitting all residents and visitors."
