Rep. Lee Announces $786,400 Grant for Nevada Arts Council to Support Art Community

April 30, 2021

WASHINGTON — Today, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) announced that the National Endowment for the Arts has granted $786,400 to the Nevada Arts Council to support local artists within the Nevada community. These funds stem from the American Rescue Plan, which allocates $52 million in total funding for state and jurisdictional arts agencies and regional arts organizations. This funding is designed to assist the arts sector as it recovers from the disastrous impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It's no secret that the arts community took a large hit as a result of the pandemic," said Rep Lee. "Art is critical to our expression, engagement, and understanding of the world. It's not just an extracurricular activity — it's essential. This generous grant will be key to economic recovery for Nevada's cultural and creative sector, and as a major supporter of the arts and humanities, I am committed to ensuring that our artists have all the resources they need to rebuild from the pandemic."
