Rep. Lee Announces Nearly $44 Million in Funding for Harry Reid International Airport, Over $481 Million for Roads and Bridges Under Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

December 16, 2021

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) announced that Harry Reid International Airport, formerly McCarran International Airport, will receive $43,982,805 in funding from the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to support the modernization and development of its infrastructure. Additionally, she announced $481,061,066 to rebuild roads and bridges across Nevada.

As a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus, Rep. Lee played an essential role in negotiating a bipartisan framework for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and ensuring it would deliver for Nevada. The funding for Harry Reid International Airport and the state's roads and bridges will help bolster the state's travel and tourism economy, which suffered from the effects of the pandemic, while creating good-paying union jobs.

"I brought Democrats and Republicans together to craft a bipartisan infrastructure law that would deliver for southern Nevada's economy. The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act makes long-overdue investments in southern Nevada, and this funding for Harry Reid International Airport and Nevada's roads and bridges is evidence that we are taking the necessary steps to develop our infrastructure and strengthen our economy for generations to come," said Rep. Lee. "This funding is especially critical to help our travel and tourism industries continue to recover from the pandemic, which hit southern Nevada hard. I am proud to see all our hard work at the negotiating table pay off, and I know that this is just the beginning of building a brighter future for our state."
