May 5, 2022

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) announced that NeighborWorks America, a congressionally chartered non-profit organization, has awarded Nevada HAND $517,000 in Fiscal Year 2022 grant funding. This funding will support Nevada HAND's efforts to develop and preserve affordable housing as well as revitalize and sustain neighborhoods in Nevada.

"The pandemic only exacerbated Nevada's housing crisis, and that's why expanding access to affordable housing is now more important than ever," said Rep. Lee. "Nevada HAND is doing critical work to increase access to affordable housing to our seniors and working families. I am pleased to announce this grant and will continue to work day in and day out in Congress to ensure every Nevadan has access to the stable housing they deserve."

"Nevada HAND is thrilled that our long-standing and continued partnership with NeighborWorks has resulted in grant funding in 2022. The grant money received supports local solutions and helps our organization continue to address the shortage of affordable housing in Nevada," said Wally Swenson, Nevada HAND Vice President of Corporate Affairs. "Nevada HAND currently has 35 affordable apartment communities in Southern Nevada that provide high-quality affordable housing for over 8,000 low-income working families and seniors. Once again, Congress has demonstrated that it has a sharp eye for a sound investment. Thank you to NeighborWorks for being a valued partner and helping us support our residents and communities."
