Rep. Lee Announces Over $5.5 Million in Electric Vehicle Funds Heading to Nevada Highways Under Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act

February 10, 2022

WASHINGTON — Today, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) announced that Nevada is receiving $5,618,414 in funding this year under the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations along its key roads and highways. These investments will create good-paying jobs to improve EV charging access for Nevada drivers and support American car manufacturers' rapidly-growing EV production.

"We must support Nevada's infrastructure while making our transportation options more sustainable and efficient," said Rep. Lee. "I am proud to have voted for the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to expand our state's electric vehicle charging network, create good-paying jobs, and protect our environment."

"We are excited to work with the Nevada Governor's Office of Energy and private sector partners to leverage the transformational Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and plot a path to roll out electric vehicle charging stations throughout the Silver State," said Nevada Department of Transportation Director Kristina Swallow. "Electric vehicles are the wave of the future, and NDOT is ready to do its part to support a plan that reduces harmful emissions, supports the tourism economy, and provides charging options for Nevadans from all different backgrounds."
