Rep. Lee Brings $30+ Million Back Home to Nevada to Support 15 Local Projects

December 22, 2022

WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) announced that over $30 million in Community Project Funding has been included in this year's government funding package, with a final House vote expected on Friday. As a member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee, Rep. Lee fought for these 15 local projects and secured their inclusion in the 12 individual government funding bills that passed out of the Committee in June.

"When elected, I made a commitment to southern Nevadans that the money they send to Washington makes its way back to our communities. That is what I've been fighting for as a member of the House Appropriations Committee," said Rep. Lee. "I'm proud that this 2023 budget includes over $30 million of direct investment in southern Nevada. The projects I secured in this bill will be felt across our district, from support for our local law enforcement to improved mental health resources and workforce development initiatives. We've seen the best of Nevada in the way we've all come together and strengthened our local economy and communities in the past couple years. With these smart investments, Nevadans will get the extra boost to keep the momentum going."

Earlier today, a bipartisan coalition voted to pass this legislation in the Senate. The twelve-bill government funding package is expected to come to a final vote in the House on Friday and to be signed into law by President Biden in the coming days

All of Rep. Lee's Community Project Funding requests – 15 out of 15 – were included in this final version of government funding legislation for fiscal year 2023.
