WASHINGTON — Today, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) released a progress report marking her second quarter of 2022 in the 117th Congress and highlighting her office's accomplishments. Highlights of this past quarter's report can be found below, and you can find Rep. Lee's 2022 First Quarter Report here.
Rep. Lee's Accomplishments for NV-03 constituents During the Second Quarter include:
- Recovering approximately $9,909,000 for constituents
- Delivering over $10,900,000 in NV-03 Federal Grant Assistance
- Closing over 351 cases for constituents who requested assistance with a Federal Agency
- Responding to approximately 450 constituent requests for assistance.
- Responding to over 7,900 emails, calls, and letters regarding legislation
- Holding and attending nearly 70 events throughout southern Nevada
- The House Passage of Critical Bills to Fight Inflation including:
- The Lower Food and Fuel Costs Act, which takes three steps to lower costs for America's families:
- Reduces fertilizer costs in the field to lower food prices in the grocery store
- Lowers meat and poultry costs by increasing meatpacking competition and capacity
- Lowers prices at the pump by making cheaper, cleaner Unleaded 88 (also known as E-15) more available.
- The Ocean Shipping Reform Act, which will help level the playing field by empowering the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) to strengthen oversight of the shipping market and lower costs for consumers. This legislation will boost funding for the FMC and implement several key measures, including:
- Combating exorbitant shipping costs by strengthening FMC enforcement action against exploitative business practices.
- Ensuring fairness in shipping by improving transparency and prohibiting ocean carriers from unreasonably refusing to transport American cargo.
- The Lower Food and Fuel Costs Act, which takes three steps to lower costs for America's families:
- $26.6 million in Community Project Funding to directly invest in 15 southern Nevada projects including:
- $5 million to fund improvements to the Henderson I-515/I-11 Interchange
- $1.33 million to expand Clark County's Social Service Mobile Health Outreach Program
- $350,000 for the Clark County Small Business Opportunity Program
- $1.7 million for the LVMPD's CARE Team Diversion Program
- $3 million to expand the Southern Nevada Water Authority's Septic Conversion Program
- $2.5 million for the Desert Research Institute's Quantifying Carbon Fluxes initiative
- $2.95 million for the City of Henderson's mental health co-responder crisis response unit
- $400,000 for the Boulder City Police Department's purchase of replacement vehicles
- $611,968 to support the NSC's School of Nursing launch of a career readiness program
- $3 million for UNLV to expand capacity for advanced sports research and education
- $1.34 million to establish NSC's School-Based Mental Health Clinic
- $800,000 to expand Workforce Connections' ability to facilitate sector partnerships
- $1.62 million to establish NSC's Center for Career Advancement and Education
- $1 million to establish of DRI's STEM and Educator-Student Partnerships Program
- $1 million bring a 3T functional MRI scanner to UNLV and improve research capacity
