Rep. Lee’s Statement Following President Trump’s Address to the Nation

Washington, DC – Rep. Lee released the following statement after President Trump's address to the nation:

"What we witnessed tonight was a gross chapter of Washington partisan theater. The President used false claims and divisive rhetoric to create a narrative so he can fulfill a foolish campaign promise. Sadly, he did nothing to reopen the government, and the Senate and President continue to hold hundreds of thousands of federal employees hostage. The House has already passed legislation to reopen the government that Senate Republicans unanimously supported mere weeks ago, the Senate needs do its job and immediately pass this legislation and the President must sign it, then Congress can get to work finding real comprehensive solutions to our immigration system."
