Rep. Lee Votes to Avoid Government Shutdown

September 22, 2020

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) released the following statement after voting in the House of Representatives for H.R. 8337, the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2021, to temporarily fund the federal government through Dec. 11, 2020, avoiding a government shutdown:

"I'm hopeful for the day that gridlock and inaction do not stop Congress from fulfilling one of our most basic duties: funding the government. The House passed multiple bills earlier this year to fund the federal government, but unfortunately, Mitch McConnell and the Senate were not able to hold up their end of the bargain. This continuing resolution will help us avoid a government shutdown, but ultimately, we must come together to fully fund our government. We are entrusted with allocating the American people's tax dollars wisely, and I will always take that responsibility seriously."
