Rep. Susie Lee Appointed to Two House Education and Labor Subcommittees

January 29, 2019

Washington, DC – Today it was announced that Rep. Susie Lee will serve on two subcommittees as a member of the House Committee on Education and Labor. Rep. Lee will serve on the Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Development, which has oversight on issues including post-secondary educational opportunities, vocational educational, and crippling student debt--something she has made clear is one of her top priorities. Rep. Lee will also serve on the Subcommittee on Civil Rights, which provides oversight on equal access to employment and education opportunities for all Americans, as well as tackling crippling inter-generational poverty.

"I am excited and grateful to join of these vital subcommittees," said Rep. Susie Lee. "My life's work has been dedicated to improving Nevada's public education system and helping every student overcome economic barriers so they can reach their fullest potential. By serving on both the Subcommittee on Higher Education and the Subcommittee on Civil Rights, I will be able to ensure that every Nevadan--no matter who they are or where they come from--has a fair chance to thrive in our 21st-century economy. I look forward to the task ahead of us."
