Rep. Susie Lee, Congress Honors Late Rep. Elijah Cummings

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) released the following statement after honoring Rep. Elijah Eugene Cummings (Md.-07), who passed away on October 17, 2019, at a special congressional ceremony that convened today to remember the late Congressman's life and legacy:

"American has lost a giant. A giant of compassion, a giant of civility, and a giant of integrity. Congressman Cummings was a shining example of leadership in a moment when we needed it most, and I'm certain my colleagues and I in Congress will work every day to live up to the legacy he is leaving behind. My heart goes out to his wife, Maya, his loved ones, the city of Baltimore, and every American who looked up to this great man. Rest in peace, Elijah."
