Rep. Susie Lee Helps To Pass Bipartisan Public Lands Bill
Washington, DC - Rep. Susie Lee released the following statement after voting to pass the Natural Resources Management Act this afternoon:
"I came to Congress to make sure both parties found common ground, and today I'm proud to support this bipartisan package that protects our public lands while saving taxpayers' hard-earned money. I have been a strong advocate for conservation and have a deep appreciation for the value of Nevada's public lands, like Red Rock in my district. The passage of this bipartisan bill is a big win for our public lands, for Nevada, and for the economy."
Background: The Natural Resources Management Act permanently reauthorizes the Land and Water Conservation Fund, benefitting places in Nevada like Boulder City, while also preserving 1.3 million acres of new wilderness, protecting a million acres of public lands from mining, and saving taxpayers $9 million.
