Rep. Susie Lee Helps Teacher Obtain License
Las Vegas, NV - Rep. Susie Lee recently helped a local teacher who needed assistance obtaining his teaching license. Ralph Schatzki moved to Las Vegas from Pennsylvania earlier this year and was looking to update his teaching license to Nevada in time to accept a position with Clark County School District. However, the required background check was delaying the process and Mr. Schatzki had only three days to receive his teaching license or he would lose his job offer.
Mr. Schatzki reached out to Rep. Susie Lee for help so that he would not lose this offer. Lee's office worked with Clark County School District, the Nevada Department of Education, and the FBI to expedite the process. Flagging there was a disconnect between the agencies about Mr. Schatzki's fingerprint results and background check, Lee successfully moved the process along, got the background check approved, and got the license issued in time for Mr. Schatzki to begin his new job with the school.
"I'm so appreciative of all the work Rep. Susie Lee put on my behalf that led to such a positive outcome," said Ralph Schatzki. "The delay with my background check paperwork had me worried, and my concern only increased when I only had three days to obtain my license. Thanks to Rep. Susie Lee's help, I was issued my teaching license in the nick of time and will now be able to teach for Clark County School District this school year."
"My priority has always been and continues to be the people of Nevada's Third District, and getting things done for them," said Rep. Susie Lee. "We need more teachers in Southern Nevada, and the red tape was about to deny Mr. Schatzki the opportunity to contribute to our community. I'm glad my office was able to make sure his teaching license was approved on time so he can get back in the classroom."
