Rep. Susie Lee Joins Colleagues in Introducing the Paycheck Fairness Act

Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Susie Lee (D-NV) joined 240 of her colleagues to introduced H.R. 7, the Paycheck Fairness Act, led by Rep. Rosa DeLauro. This bill would strengthen protections and close loopholes in the 1963 Equal Pay Act, and provide effective remedies to women who are not receiving equal pay for equal work.

Rep. Susie Lee released the following statement:

"It's a sad state of affairs that, in 2019, women are still making less money than men simply because of their gender. On average, women make 80 cents to every dollar earned by a man--and that discrepancy is even worse for women of color. I am proud to add my name to the Paycheck Fairness Act, so we can finally bring pay inequality to an end once and for all."
