Rep. Susie Lee Meets with Solar Plant Workers in Boulder City
Boulder City, Nev. – U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) joined workers in touring the Techren 2 Renewable Energy Solar Station in southern Nevada’s Eldorado Valley. Eldorado Valley is home to four major solar plants and is key in solidifying southern Nevada’s position as one of the nation’s leaders in solar energy development and innovation.
“Southern Nevada is leading the way in innovation and development of solar energy,” said Rep. Susie Lee. “As one of 40 solar energy companies in Nevada’s 3rd District, the Techren plant is creating job opportunities in Boulder City and throughout southern Nevada, adding to the diversity of our economy that grows by the day. Investing in clean energy, solar in particular, diversifies our economy, brings new jobs to the state, and reduces our carbon footprint. Any policy that helps southern Nevada that much is a policy I support.”
BACKGROUND: Rep. Lee prioritized numerous programs in the House-passed budget that would strengthen investment in solar energy development and innovation, including investment in the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy program.
