Rep. Susie Lee’s Statement on the Nevada Governor Signing the Background Check Act into Law

Washington, DC – Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) released the following statement after the Nevada Legislature passed and Governor Steve Sisolak signed The Background Check Act into law:

"In 2016, Nevadans made it clear: we wanted to make our state safer, prevent senseless gun violence, and keep guns out the hands of people who shouldn't have them. It's that simple. But for two years, Nevada's leaders ignored the will of the people. Thanks to Governor Sisolak and the Nevada Legislature the will of the people is finally being heard and respected. I hope that Nevada can serve as a leader for our nation on gun safety and that leaders in Washington, D.C. will soon follow suit by passing and signing the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019 into law."
