Rep. Susie Lee Statement on Vietnam War Veterans’ Day
"Today we recognize and thank those brave Americans who answered our nation's call to serve without hesitation and with the utmost commitment during one of our deadliest wars. Their duty to serving our country is unwavering, and our duty to all of them must be as well. We can't limit our thanks and gratitude to just today. We must keep working every day to make sure our Vietnam Veterans have the support, care, and treatment they have earned. To the more than 80,000 brave men and women who fought for our country in Vietnam and now call Nevada home, thank you."
In 2017, Congress established the 29th of March as a national day to recognize the previously unsung patriotism of our Vietnam veterans--joining the six other annual, military-centric, national observances codified in law, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Veterans Day.
