Rep. Susie Lee Touts Accomplishments During First 100 Days

April 12, 2019

Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) marked her first 100 days in office by releasing the following statement:

"I came to Congress to work across the aisle and find solutions for the people of Nevada's Third District, and that's exactly what I have been doing during these 100 days in office. The work I have accomplished so far is proof you can lead the fight to improve our schools and provide quality care for our veterans in a bipartisan way. I have led bipartisan legislation to ensure our veterans are able to receive childcare anywhere they receive VA services, focused school construction legislation on the needs of Clark County's crowded classrooms, and saved constituents more than $150,000. I am committed to working for my constituents to find solutions for the problems they face every day."

GENERAL BACKGROUND:

Since swearing in, Rep. Susie Lee's district and DC offices have:

- Taken on 105 constituent cases

- Have held more than 351 official meetings in the district

- Helped 153 tour groups visit our Nation's Capital.

- Recovered $155,589.75 for constituents.

- Responded to 10,840 emails, calls, and letters.

LEGISLATIVE BACKGROUND:

- Rep. Lee has passed bipartisan legislation through the House that will ensure veterans are able to access child care regardless of where they receive treatment.

- In response to a KLAS story about a special-needs child that was removed from class and kept outside in extreme heat, Rep. Lee is working to include outdoor spaces in the definition of prohibited "restraint and seclusion" practices.

- One of the biggest challenges facing our schools is a lack of funding. Rep. Lee has introduced legislation that will guarantee funding for all Title I schools and Individuals with Disabilities in Education programs.

- Rep. Lee is working in a bipartisan manner to protect the environment and public lands. She introduced a bipartisan bill to require the government to present alternative uses for Yucca mountain, the "Jobs, Not Waste" Act, and helped introduce the bipartisan Public Lands Omnibus Bill that passed the House of Representatives.
