LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, during National Public Safety Month, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) hosted a roundtable discussing federal funding she secured to support first responders and improve public safety in southern Nevada. Congresswoman Lee was joined by the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC), Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, and the Clark County Fire Department.

“Our first responders put their lives on the line to protect our communities every day. We don’t just owe them our respect – we must ensure they have the resources they need to do their jobs safely,” said Congresswoman Susie Lee. “I’m proud to have secured nearly $18 million in federal investments to help them keep our community safe. I decided to run for Congress because I was tired of Nevada sending more money to Washington than we received – I’m using my seat to change that and bring home the funding our state deserves.”

As southern Nevada’s only voice on the House Appropriations Committee, Congresswoman Lee focuses on bringing money back to Nevada and works to secure the funding and resources needed to keep first responders and southern Nevadans safe. Lee brought home nearly $9 million for RTC to replace and upgrade buses and modernize security at their operational facilities; nearly $7 million for the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue and Clark County Fire Department to support firefighter recruitment and retention; over $1 million to enable LVMPD to purchase equipment vital to the department's Air Support Section; and over $1 million to enable the Clark County Fire Department to make critical upgrades to the emergency notification, communication, and information management systems at the South Site Emergency Operations Center.
