Nevada Congresswoman Susie Lee joined the protest on Friday, expressing her frustration with the federal budget cuts. "Are you pissed off? I'm pissed off!" Lee said, warning that the job cuts at the VA are just the beginning. "They're coming after your Medicaid, they're coming after Medicare, they're coming after your social security," she added, criticizing what she described as illegal executive orders from the Trump Administration.

That sentiment is echoed by members of the valley's federal delegation, like Democratic District 3 Rep. Susie Lee, who attended Friday's rally outside of the North Las Vegas VA.
"I'd love to work with the Trump Administration on government efficiency, but this is wreaking havoc and chaos across the country," Lee said. "More importantly, people are going to die as a result."

“Equipment like fixed anchors were going to be removed from federal wilderness areas,” reported Nevada Congresswoman Susie Lee who has climbed with Honnold at Red Rock. Lee jumped into action championing the Protecting America’s Rock Climbing (PARC) Act protecting more than 50,000 climbing routes on public lands in 28 states. It passed unanimously in the House and Senate.

Lee said she noticed a need for the PARC Act when the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service proposed classifying fixed anchors, or the permanent hardware bolted into mountains for climbers to secure themselves, as prohibited in wilderness areas. The law now protects these fixed anchors, of which there are thousands across Southern Nevada.
