Washington, D.C. – Member of the Committee on Education and Labor U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03), Committee on Education and Labor Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Human Services Chair Suzanne Bonamici (Ore.-01), and Rep. Susan Wild (Pa.-07) introduced the Dignity in Aging Act, H.R. 4334, a bipartisan proposal to reauthorize the Older Americans Act (OAA), which increases funding for vital programs that help aging Americans live independently and with dignity.

Henderson, Nev. - Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) submitted a statement for the record, dated Sept. 9 and confirmed late Sept. 12, to the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, urging her colleagues to support the passage of H.R. 2645, the Newborn Care Improvement Act, which Rep. Lee introduced in May. The bipartisan bill would extend coverage of newborn health care for children of Veterans.

Washington, D.C. - Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) issued the following statement after the Smithsonian Women's History Museum Act, which she cosponsored, passed the 290-cosponsor threshold to be placed on the consensus calendar. This is the result of a new House rule that the Problem Solvers Caucus, of which the Congresswoman is a member, championed as part of its ‘Break the Gridlock' initiative. This brings the bill one step closer to passage.

Lee visited the Searchlight Health Fair to highlight the importance of access and affordability to quality health care, especially in underserved communities like Searchlight.

Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford, Las Vegas Councilwoman Pamela Goynes-Brown, and Clark County Public Administrator Rob Telles joined her at the event.

Susie Lee (Nev.-03) met with constituents at the Heritage Senior Center Craft Sale and then met with the Nevada Alliance for Retired Americans to discuss policy priorities for southern Nevada's senior citizens. Those priorities include the reauthorization of the Older Americans Act, rising prescription drug prices, and bolstering social security and Medicare.
