Las Vegas, NV - Rep. Susie Lee recently helped a local teacher who needed assistance obtaining his teaching license. Ralph Schatzki moved to Las Vegas from Pennsylvania earlier this year and was looking to update his teaching license to Nevada in time to accept a position with Clark County School District. However, the required background check was delaying the process and Mr. Schatzki had only three days to receive his teaching license or he would lose his job offer.
Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Susie Lee (D-NV) helped introduce the Equality Act, which will protect people from discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

This legislation ensures Nevadans have a voice in any plan to store nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain, and provides a voice to all states who are otherwise opposed to permanently storing nuclear waste in their communities.
Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Susie Lee (NV-03) voted to pass H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, which she helped introduce earlier in this year. This bill ensures that individuals already prohibited from gun possession under federal law are not able to obtain firearms, finally closing the background check loophole. It also comes on the heels of the Nevada Legislature passing and Governor signing The Background Check Act into law, earlier this month.
